Andrew Batten is a passionate and versatile trainer focused on bringing a holistic, performance-driven approach to player development. Growing up in the local baseball community of Ortonville, Andrew is thrilled to be instructing and giving back at a facility he wished existed during his own playing days.

Andrew has coached players across various age and skill levels, from youth through college. His experience includes:

Instructor at D-Bat Detroit: Provided private lessons covering hitting, pitching, and fielding mechanics, working with athletes of all ages.

Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Brandon High School (2015-2019): Specialized in hitting and infield defense, developing players and contributing to team operations, including successful fundraising efforts.

Michigan Monarchs (Cleary University): Served as an assistant coach during staff trips, gaining experience at the collegiate level.
Professional & Academic Focus
Andrew is currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Sport Psychology from Northern Michigan University. This advanced study is a crucial component of his training philosophy, allowing him to integrate mental performance principles, such as focus, confidence, and goal setting, directly into his on-field instruction.
His professional background as a Team Lead and Store Manager at major national retailers (New Balance and Fleet Feet Running) provides him with strong skills in organization, communication, and leading performance-driven environments—qualities he translates directly to the cage and the field.
Andrew is dedicated to helping every athlete sharpen their physical skills while building the mental toughness required to compete at the highest levels.
