Aaron Rubio
Elite Baseball Instructor & Player Development Specialist
Aaron Rubio is a highly accomplished former collegiate and professional-level player dedicated to developing elite baseball talent through personalized instruction.
A decorated athlete from Davison, Aaron received numerous high school accolades, including All-Conference, All-District, and All-Region honors, capped by an Honorable Mention All-State selection. He continued his competitive career at the collegiate level, playing both baseball and football at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU).
Following his collegiate success, Aaron competed for five seasons in the A West League in Flint, demonstrating sustained performance at a high level. His skill was recognized by professional organizations, leading to invitations to participate in exclusive pro baseball camps hosted by the St. Louis Cardinals, San Francisco Giants, Detroit Tigers, and Pittsburgh Pirates, among others.
With over a decade of experience in personal baseball training, Aaron specializes in comprehensive player development covering hitting, fielding, and agility. His expertise has directly contributed to the success of top amateur talent, including the successful coaching and training of several Division I (D1) baseball players.
Coach Drew Batten
Andrew Batten, B.S. | Hitting, Fielding, and Mental Performance Trainer
Andrew Batten is a passionate and versatile trainer focused on bringing a holistic, performance-driven approach to player development. Growing up in the local baseball community of Ortonville, Andrew is thrilled to be instructing and giving back at a facility he wished existed during his own playing days.

Andrew has coached players across various age and skill levels, from youth through college. His experience includes:

Instructor at D-Bat Detroit: Provided private lessons covering hitting, pitching, and fielding mechanics, working with athletes of all ages.

Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Brandon High School (2015-2019): Specialized in hitting and infield defense, developing players and contributing to team operations, including successful fundraising efforts.

Michigan Monarchs (Cleary University): Served as an assistant coach during staff trips, gaining experience at the collegiate level.
Professional & Academic Focus
Andrew is currently pursuing a Master’s in Applied Sport Psychology from Northern Michigan University. This advanced study is a crucial component of his training philosophy, allowing him to integrate mental performance principles, such as focus, confidence, and goal setting, directly into his on-field instruction.
His professional background as a Team Lead and Store Manager at major national retailers (New Balance and Fleet Feet Running) provides him with strong skills in organization, communication, and leading performance-driven environments—qualities he translates directly to the cage and the field.
Andrew is dedicated to helping every athlete sharpen their physical skills while building the mental toughness required to compete at the highest levels.
Haley Newsom
Coach Haley | Softball Pitching Coach
Coach Haley is a former Division I pitcher from Oakland University, bringing collegiate-level experience, discipline, and passion to every lesson. She believes in the motto “1% better every day” — focusing on consistent growth, hard work, and mastering the mental side of the game.
Her coaching philosophy centers on developing mental toughness, building confidence in the circle, and improving pitching mechanics to increase velocity and command. Coach Haley is dedicated to helping pitchers elevate their performance — both physically and mentally — one pitch at a time.
